GENERAL INFORMATION

What are cookies and what are they used for?

A cookie is a text file that a website visited by a user sends to their terminal (computer, mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet), where it is stored before being retransmitted to that site during a subsequent visit to the same site.

Cookies are distinguished from each other:

  • based on the subject who installs them, depending on whether it is the same manager of the visited site (c.d. "first-party cookies") or from a different subject (c.d. "third-party cookies");
  • based on the purpose of each cookie: some cookies allow better navigation by memorizing some user choices, such as the language (c.d. "technical cookies"), other cookies allow us to monitor the user's navigation also for the purpose of sending advertising and/or offering services in line with his/her preferences (c.d. "profiling cookies").

Only profiling cookies require the user's prior consent for their use.

The Data Controller is solely responsible for first-party cookies installed by it on the Site.
